Building on a Solid Foundation

What do concrete, mortar, money and education have in common?  They are all the primary ingredients in building a solid foundation. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a foundation is “a usually stone or concrete structure that supports a building from underneath.”  Yet another definition is “an organization that is created and supported with money that people give in order to do something that helps society.” 

While the Hill Country Education Foundation (HCEF) is clearly defined by the second definition, it does, in a figurative sense support many schools – or concrete structures.  Since its inception in 2009, HCEF has raised more than $300k for the Four Point area schools (Vandegrift High School, Canyon Ridge Middle School, Four Points Middles School, Laura Welsh Bush Elementary, Steiner Ranch Elementary and River Ridge Elementary) and has funded:
