February is here and we're ready to get things started off right! Football season is closing out with Superbowl, it's going to remain chilly throughout the month (Or is it? We live in Texas afterall.) and the housing market is still robust for sellers. Back to the local events you'll want to be a part of that includes the best to do, see and engage in in Austin and beyond this February! 

February 1-16: FronteraFest
Hyde Park Theatre
FronteraFest is five weeks of alternative, offbeat, new and off-the-wall fringe theatre. Expect the unexpected. 

February 9: Carnaval Brasileiro
Carnaval in Austin is one of the biggest Brazilian Carnaval celebrations outside Brazil. Brasileiro-style samba, costumes and wild abandon can all be seen in the heart of Texas.

February 9: Rodeo Austin Gala
Palmer Events Center
The Rodeo Austin Gala & Youth Art Auction is one of Austin’s largest black tie affairs! A purchase of a Rodeo Austin Gala table is a great way to entertain clients, guests, friends, or family, and it helps Rodeo Austin support young Texans through scholarship and other award-giving. The evening includes a cocktail hour, a gourmet dinner, one-of-a-kind silent, and live auctions, and boot-tapping live music entertainment by Jamey Johnson and special guest Lee Ann Womack!

February 10: Chili Cook-Off
Hotel San José
Join Jo’s Coffee for their 13th Annual Chili Cook-Off benefitting Urban Roots Farm. Since 2005, Jo’s has hosted an annual Chili Cook-off, Two Steppin’ Competition and Benefit each winter. The event supports non-profit groups addressing hunger issues locally and draws amateur and professional culinary talent into a fierce battle for the prized trophy chili pot. This is a great event to attend with all of your family and friends!

February 15-24: Austin Fashion Week
Various Locations
2019 marks the 11th anniversary of Austin Fashion Week/Fashion X Austin. Fashion X Austin is the largest week of fashion events in Texas and the 4th largest fashion week in the United States! The week emerges independent designers with hopes of being connected to boutique buyers and consumers through runway shows and pop up shops. A whole new calendar of unique events will be highlighted in brand new venues that they can’t wait to tell you about!

February 17: Austin's Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K
Downtown Austin
One of the country's premier races attracts nearly 20,000 participants from around the world. Events surrounding the marathon include a 5K, live music, finish line festival and beer garden.

February 20-24: Cirque Du Soleil Corteo
H-E-B Center at Cedar Park
Corteo, the latest and most enchanting Cirque du Soleil’s arena production is now touring in North America! The show will visit Cedar Park at the H-E-B Center from February 20 to February 24, 2019, for a limited run of eight performances. This unique production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, first premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005. Since then, the show has been a great success and has amazed 8 million people in 19 countries on four continents. 

February 23: Austin Oyster Festival
Republic Square
This is one tasty festival you don’t want to miss! The Oyster Festival is an annual hit among locals and visitors alike. Not sure which kind of oyster you prefer? Try ‘em all while enjoying a little live Cajun and “newgrass” music on the lawn!

February 23: Austin Modern Home Tour
Various Locations
The Austin Modern Home Tour celebrates 11 years of collaborative exchange between architects, developers, designers and real estate professionals. Participating homes on the tour will open their doors for viewing throughout the day, then enjoy food, beverages and additional homes at the post-event soiree.
