It's officially fall and that means pumpkin spice lattes are in full effect. Festivals and a ton of other cool events accompany the cooler weather, too, from live music concerts to pumpkin patches – we haven’t missed a beat. Here’s our top picks of what to enjoy in Austin and beyond this October!
October 1 – November 25: Texas Renaissance Festival

October 1 – November 4: Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch

October 19 – 21: FORMULA 1 United States Grand Prix

An event of all things speed and sound! International drivers will compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. Three days of racing, camping, live music and more. Grammy award winning Bruno Mars and pop icon Britney Spears take the stage.
October 20: The Domazing Dog Race Fundraiser

An "Amazing Race" style scavenger hunt fundraiser to acquire a lost pet tracking dog in Austin. The lost pet tracking dog is a real-life pup that acts like a detective and has a goal of reuniting families with their lost animals.

October 26: Hocus Pocus Halloween Spelltacular

Join Alamo Drafthouse Austin for this fun event that benefits Austin Parks Foundation. Enjoy a Halloween dance party, broom races, food truck courtyard and watch Hocus Pocus on the big outdoor screen.
October 26 – November 4: Austin Beer Week
Austin Beer Week is partnered with the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, a nonprofit organization supporting Texas craft brewers. Taste craft beers in a unique way with nationally recognized chefs and much more.
October 27: Viva La Vida Festival & Parade

Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos festival, and one of few that includes a parade. Expect to see hands-on art activities and artist demos, traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, live music and performances all day.
October 27: Halloween Children's Concert

Austin Symphony Orchestra Presents this concert that is a wonderful chance for you to introduce your children to the wonders of live orchestral music and also a great opportunity to wear costumes and have tons of fun. October 28: 6th Annual Spooktober 5K & Fall Festival

This family-friendly event includes a 5K run/walk, a Kids K, and a fall festival for everyone. Advance registration is not required to attend the fall festival, and tickets will be sold at the event. However, you can register in advance for the runs.
October 28: The Haunted Half Austin
